Why I Ditched My Car for Electric Scooters (And You Might Too)

rent an electric scooter  You know what's wild? A year ago, if you’d told me I’d be buzzing around the city on an electric scooter, I would've laughed. Now? I barely remember the last time I filled my car's tank.

It Started With a Missed Bus

I was late (again), sweating under the Lahore sun, waiting for a bus that just wasn’t coming. Right then, I saw this electric scooter parked near the curb. Honestly, I hesitated. I’d never used one, and it looked, small.

But I was desperate.

I pulled out my phone, downloaded the app, and within minutes, I was on the move. Smooth, quick, and surprisingly fun.

That one ride flipped a switch.

Renting Electric Scooters is Stupid Simple

No joke, renting an electric scooter is way easier than dealing with public transport. Open the app, scan, ride. Done. No arguing with drivers, no waiting in heat, no surge pricing nonsense. I just find the nearest scooter and go. And yeah, sometimes they’re all taken. But that’s rare. The e scooter rental service I use keeps adding more around town, and it’s been a game-changer.

So, Why Is Everyone Jumping Onboard?

Three reasons: time, money, and sanity.

  • Time: I skip traffic. Every. Single. Time.

  • Money: It’s cheaper than ride-hailing or fuel.

  • Sanity: I actually enjoy the ride. When was the last time you said that in a car?

Plus, it’s eco-friendly. No fumes. No honking engines. Just you and the wind.

Electric Scooter Sharing Isn’t Just a Trend

I get it, it seems like a hipster thing. But electric scooter sharing is growing fast in cities across Pakistan. Students, office workers, even delivery guys are using them. They're filling a gap between short distances and long commutes. They're light, easy, and affordable.

And if you’re worried about safety? Same here. I take it slow, use a helmet, and ride in bike lanes when I can. It’s manageable.

Final Thought: Try It Once

I’m not saying ditch your car tomorrow. But next time you see a scooter parked near you? Hop on. Give it a shot.
